Some thoughts from Marie Sherlock, author of Living Simply with Children: A Voluntary Simplicity Guide for Moms, Dads, and Kids Who Want to Reclaim the Bliss of Childhood and the Joy of Parenting:
- The adoption of simple lifestyles by Western megaconsumers is truly the only way we are going to save the planet
- Living simply is also the method we must employ if we care about global economic and social justice
- Those practicing simplicity in North America typically are quite comfortable by global standards. A resident from a third world country would be stunned by our homes – indoor plumbing, electricity, refrigerator, microwave, cd player, DVDs, computer, etc. Even our own parents grew up without many of these things.
Just some food for thought as you head off for your weekend – Enjoy!
