Flexibility and stopping putting things off are definitely two things I need to work on during my journey to a simpler life.
I have always had images in my head of how things “should” go and when they do not happen like I planned I get disappointed. Sometimes I think that I would rather they had not happened at all.
I know I need to let this go. I need to be more flexible and be more open to try something new when things do not go as I planned.
Also, it is really easy to put things off until another day, another week, or even another year. Time goes by and I am still not doing what I know I really want to do. Some examples of this would be taking a walk or cleaning out the kids’ toy closet.
At some point I need to just do it. If I know there is something I want to be doing today, I should stop putting it off. As they said in Dead Poet’s Society carpe diem – seize the day!
